REGISTRATION DATES

We are honored that the Canadian Muay Thai Open this August In Kitchener, Ontario, will once again be the National Team Qualifier in 2026.
To be on the Canadian National Team, means you are the top athlete in your division in Canada. This qualifies you to represent Canada in prestigious international tournaments like the IFMA World Championship.
Participation in the CMTO qualifier is mandatory to join the Canadian National Team.
For athletes under 23 years old, the IFMA has a U23 division. Although CMTO doesn't have a separate U23 division, under 23 athletes should register for the Senior A Class. These athletes will be matched together first in the tournament draw but will still compete against elite senior athletes. The highest-ranking under 23 athlete in this category will qualify for the national team.
The CMTO qualifier is open to all nationalities, meaning a non-Canadian can win the division. In such cases, the top Canadian athlete in the division will be selected for the national team.
If you are not interested in the IFMA World Championship but still want to compete in the CMTO A Class division, you can do so.
Winning the A Class Division will also make you eligible to compete for a Muay Thai Canada Title.

CMTO EVENT MERCH
We’re proud to officially unveil the Canadian Muay Thai Open 2026 merchandise collection — featuring our premium event tees, heavyweight hoodies, joggers, and exclusive embossed hoodie line.
At the center of this year’s collection is the Gao Yord (9 Spires) — one of the most recognized and respected sacred Sak Yant symbols in Muay Thai culture.
Traditionally representing protection, strength, discipline, and perseverance, the Gao Yord was chosen as the symbol behind CMTO 2026 to reflect something bigger than competition alone.
This tournament continues to grow because of the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, families, and supporters who continue to push Canadian Muay Thai forward together.
The 9 Spires represent unity through adversity, respect for tradition, and the tenacious competitive, spirit that connects our entire community.
For this year’s design, we wanted to create something bold, modern, and powerful — while remaining respectful to the roots and culture that continue to inspire our sport worldwide.
This collection is limited and available now for pre-order.
Thank you for continuing to support Canadian Muay Thai. We cannot wait to see this gear represented throughout the tournament weekend this August. 🔥
